This elegant hall table is decorated in the classic "Duckegg and gilt" combination which sits well against a subtle colourwash wall in shades taken from the limestone floor

The top is finished in a faux marble which is sympathetic to the pale limestone floor The paintwork has been distressed and the mouldings have been gilded in real gold leaf and aged resulting in an authentic antique feel

in fact there was quite a saving as the cost of a real marble bevelled top more than doubled the total cost of the entire piece.
